Bug Description
On openSUSE, Fedora and probably other distros locale-related environment variables are set according to the configured system default locale in the environment before starting lightdm. lightdm does not pass these environment variables on into the environment of the greeter it spawns (probably because in Debian and Ubuntu they are set via pam_env) and thus effectively ignores the system's default locale.
