Is there a need for seperate option Edit | Preferences?

Bug Description
It is strange that there is only single option available in Edit menu e.g. Preferences. And all of the preferences are actually something to do with appearance which should be default be in View menu.
I suggest to remove Edit | Preferences option and put all of the preferences into View menu, each of preference option in separate check-box list option in View menu.
