fwiw i can successfully upload two files of that size to lp. perhaps it is something about your connection, or your connection is slow enough it times out, or just bad luck. at any rate we should leave this open.

How is this invalid? It's still affecting people (plural).

I have this too.
My package is "just" 26MB

FYI: It was release day yesterday and LP failed to upload my tarball (again).

I had to upload it to my people account and get someone else to upload it for me.

This doesn't happen anywhere else.

Its a question not a code bug as far as we can tell - because we have other folk reporting that it works just fine. questions are assessed by the maintenance squad and you should be getting assistance there in the near future.

If it turns out to be a code issue, we will of course reopen this bug.

For clarity - the team that picks this up (deryck or gary's) may reopen this bug, if they prefer to track it as a bug rather than as a question - I don't object either way. I converted it to a question because I feel it fits that profile better - the symptoms we have so far are pretty spotty after all.

This could be a timeout, or, as abentley observed, it could be caused by "bad URLs": Launchpad becomes often completely confused if a URL contains an incomplete UTF8 sequence, like this one:

https://code.launchpad.net/~adeuring/launchpad/bug-739052-11/+merge/76772%e4

so, could you show us the URL, or the form data, where this happens?

Hi,

There is a suggestion to try lp-project-upload from the package "ubuntu-dev-tools"
to upload the tarballs, which may be a workaround for the LTs for any monthly releases
before this is fixed.

Thanks,

James

Sadly, I have the same result here with lp-project-upload, except that the text "Please try again...." is outputed in the terminal !
