Yellow edit icon is confusing

Minor UI issue. That little image of a yellow circle containing a dot and a dash looks like an exclamation mark. It took me several hours of accumulated Launchpad usage to figure out what it means ('edit the adjacent field', unless I'm mistaken). For a long time I thought it denoted some kind of alert or important field. Attached is a screenshot of how it appears to me in Firefox. The naff aliasing is due to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox-3.0/+bug/217908, and the fact that I view most web pages including Launchpad using above-normal magnification (Firefox Ctrl-+), but it incidentally illustrates what the icon might look like to somebody with less than perfect vision. Is the icon supposed to represent a pencil? It could be clearer. Or, you could fit the word 'edit' in the same space.
