Bug Description
This report is a result of bug #408639 which is claiming that the user was confused by not finding Kubuntu as a distribution in the bug report form (I am reporting this against launchpad because my request probably needs to be implemented on a larger scale than malone anyway).
Apparently a user who knows that one ought to file Kubuntu bugs at launchpad does not necessarily know that Kubuntu belongs to the Ubuntu project, frankly I do understand how a user might not (want to) know. Actually over the years it has happened quite some times that people come into a Kubuntu IRC channel and ask where to file a bug, since there is no Kubuntu distribution listed. Now, while those were enough cases for me to remember, I am quite sure that the amount of users not reporting Kubuntu bugs at all because they were confused, is a lot bigger.
Thus, I kindly ask for support of project alises, so there would still be Ubuntu, but in fact official derivates such as Kubuntu and Xubuntu would be listed independently from Ubuntu for user convenience.
Example:
* User goes to launchpad.net
* selects Bugs from the top navigation
* selects "Report a Bug"
* selects "Kubuntu" from the distribution dropdown
* enters "kdebase" as package and happily continues writing a bug report

We already have project aliases, but we need to enable them for distributions. Also, having the aliases show up on the distribution dropdown will require some more work.
