Bug Description
A url such as:
https:/
requests:
Upstream Series (Required)
but without any indication of what this string should be. I have tried examples such:
'taoframework'
'taoframework2.0'
'2.0'
each of which returns:
<structured-
Launchpad does not know the upstream project series for this package. If you know the correct details, please let us know.
It is unclear what format the "structured string" should be.
Ideally the form would also allow a clickable link to indicate how/whom to contact to "let us know".

The error message does need fixing. It needs to state that a valid product series was not provided.
Using the <choose>, and searching for 'tao', I can see that there are no releases registered for taoframework with 'tao' in them. Searching for taoframework, in launchpad, I do not see taoframework registered as a project.
To link a sourcepackage to an upstream project, someone must first register the project taoframework so that Launchpad can track it. In addition, someone must create a series (release series) to track the releases of the project.
The series will appear in the <Choose> popup.
