Bug Description

I often encounter a problem or weird behavior, but don't have time to file a good bug report (search for existing bugs, troubleshoot, write up details).

Currently, I just email notes to myself to investigate later, but I don't always bother.

It should be possible to file a note-to-self half-finished bug that doesn't show up on the developers' radar (but could still be searched for by other people having the same problem?) which I can then file officially at a later date if I keep having problems with it and have time to write a proper report.

I think a more generic feature would be even more useful. Notes would be useful for every Launchpad application. Launchpad developers do this all the time, but mostly with their desktop. Some are experimenting with RememberTheMilk to be notified after a certain time.

    As a launchpad user,
    I want to create notes
    so that my ideas and tasks are organised.

    As a launchpad user,
    I want to mark some of my notes as public
    so that other users can read what I'm planning.

    As a launchpad user,
    I want to set time and date whn I should be notified that the note needs attention.
    So that I can ensure my tasks are completed.

If launchpad had a notification page, users could opt to receive some messages as notes instead of email.

Moving to launchpad-registry since the initial idea won't be implemented in the Bugtracker but it might be useful as a general person notes feature.

I think it makes more sense being implemented in the bugtracker. When someone files a bug, draft bugs with similar search terms should come up too. The creator of the draft can then be notified and asked if the newly filed bug is the same thing.

I changed it back to the way Endolith meant it (I think), I would also like to have the same feature. I think that this is substantially different from "Create tasks" and therefore not a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad/+bug/393117. Besides it is also a smaller feature and therefore more likely to be implemented.

The workaround basically is to just hit save, then go back and edit
it. But having a "save work in progress" would be nice, especially if
it eventually applied across other things.
