Bug Description
Currently the search criteria are cleared every time you enter the Advanced Search page. There should be a distinction between creating a new search, and revising a search. E.g., if I construct an Advanced Search and then after looking at the results decided that I want to make a minor change, I'd like to be able to revise the search criteria without re-entering them all. This could either be an explicit "revise" option, or that by default the most recent search criteria are retained but a "clear all" option added to the search page.
It may save time to fix this bug at the same time as bug 28697.

It also happens when you move from simple search to advanced search - the search string is lost.
