Bug Description

Hi,

My goal is to mirror the public github repo https://github.com/CanonicalLtd/ubuntu-package-status @ https://code.launchpad.net/~cloudware/cloud-images/+git just like we have with the https://code.launchpad.net/~cloudware/cloud-images/+git/ubuntu-old-fashioned repo.

I would like the owner to be Cloudware and the project to be ~Cloudware/cloud-images just like https://code.launchpad.net/~cloudware/cloud-images/+git/ubuntu-old-fashioned.

I was using https://code.launchpad.net/+code-imports/+new but this resulted in Oops (Error ID: OOPS-be964773a0a382c8c80cb1ce3a2cf03f) and looking up the oops @ https://oops.canonical.com/?oopsid=be964773a0a382c8c80cb1ce3a2cf03f suggests the git repo is not being set.

Were the arguments passed incorrect or is there a bug in the code-import I can help with?

It's not currently intended to be possible for a code import to be owned by a private team; only individuals or public teams may own code imports. (The reason for this is that the source of the import has to be public anyway in order for Launchpad to be able to import it, and so it's not worth the added complexity of making sure that private imports work.)

I'm really not sure how https://code.launchpad.net/~cloudware/cloud-images/+git/ubuntu-old-fashioned got that way. I assume that it must have been created with a different owner and then moved into place or something, or maybe it sneaked past the intended restrictions by accident somehow. But this is not something we want to support at present - can you use a public team instead?

Thank you.

I was able to import using the cloud-images group and once created and imported move ownership to cloudware.

Thank you.

I'd like to keep this open for the bad error handling - it should have been a clear error message rather than an OOPS.
