oops when changing distro/package on a bug

Bug Description
Hello, a co-worker and I both tried to change the package on a bug report at the same time. He beat me and his change 'won' -- I lost the race and got an oops. I tried again a few moments later and got another oops.
It'd be nice if this race were handled more gracefully.
The oopses I received were:

It seems that both OOPS returned a 404, and the javascript might not be dealing with that kind of HTTP response correctly.
