Bug Description
Brief Version: https:/
TL;DR: My version of Kubuntu keeps losing audio devices/audio and cannot recover, including after reinstalling pavucontrol, alsa, etc. I can't figure out how to get this to stop, and is a certain... and very persistant bug. I've tried multiple uninstalls, and reinstalls, and occasionally, one day after restarting the system, the audio bug is present and never goes away again. All attempts to raise volume don't work that I've tried. The askubuntu page has more detail, including my hardware specs.
I should also add that the bluetooth connector also has audio problems and appears to be broken as well.
After recommendation of a person on Kubuntu forums, I have found a temporary fix. Running:
sudo apt-get remove --purge alsa-base pulseaudio
sudo apt-get install alsa-base pulseaudio pulseaudio-
sudo alsa force-reload
Seems to work 100% of the time, however, the bug always re-appears. Naturally, this is rather inconvenient, and requires connection to the internet.
By process of elimination, I have ruled that installing plasma-pa* always causes the bug. Every time plasma-pa* is installed, the bug appears. When it is uninstalled and sudo alsa force-reload is run, sound is always restored. Attempting the reload while plasma-pa* is installed always fails to restore sound.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
