@Art, if you go to: https://github.com/KiCad/kicad-source-mirror/graphs/commit-activity <https://github.com/KiCad/kicad-source-mirror/graphs/commit-activity> you’ll see that there was a big hump in activity about a week and a half ago. That means a bunch of work was checked in, and we’re now seeing the fallout from that. It should settle down soon (at least until the next big hump).

Cheers,
Jeff.

@Jeff,

I don't know, I feel that it is me who is being humped. May be it is my subjective opinion, but it seems to me that everything went downhill really fast about March - April of this year. Did you have a hump then?

To add insult to injury, I can't even go back to a "stable" nightly from a couple of months ago. It tells me that the file was created in a newer version and it can't open it. Duh!

Sounds more like you're getting hit by architectural work (modern toolset) than activity humps.

There are at least two more architectural merges coming in 6.0: (a) new symbol architecture and eeschema file format, and (b) new DRC architecture. I wouldn't expect either until autumn, so things should still quiet down a bit.
