Bug Description

I can add more than one sound files to an instrument. But, if I try to record twice to the same instrument (record, set red mark behind old recording, record again) I get this:

---
Error loading file: None

Please make sure the file exists, and the appropriate plugin is installed.

Could not determine type of stream.
gsttypefindelement.c(853): gst_type_find_element_activate (): /GstPipeline:pipeline6/GstDecodeBin:decodebin6/GstTypeFindElement:typefind:
Can't typefind empty stream
---

Looks like Jokosher needs to start a new file?

This error usually comes up when your previous recording fails. For example Gstreamer tries to open your sound card and fails, so the file it creates has no data in it. Then the next time you try to play in Jokosher, it will try to open the empty file and give you the error "Can't typefind empty stream".

When you record while there are other recordings in the project, Jokosher tries to play those recordings while you record (so you can sing while listening to your instrument track for example). Can you make sure that the entire project plays successfully before trying to record over? If it plays fine but fails with this message on record I will have to do some more investigating.

Thanks.

I think you are right. I only tested with a small test project I did and there I could reproduce the problem reliably. I now created a new project with only one instrument and it works fine. Adding a new instrument it still works fine as long as I set the other (non-recording) instrument to mute. Once the problem happens once, it does not seem to matter what I do: I need to restart jokosher to have it behave correctly again.
