Bug Description

Kubuntu 11.04, Inkscape 0.48

When exporting the attached file as PDF or EPS some of the paths are closed, some are not. In the original Inkscape-SVG File none of the paths are closed. Export as PNG works as expected. The file was generated without any external software.

Note: Inkscape 0.48 under MS Windows does not have the same problem

JFTR: The attached PDF file was created with cairo 1.10.2.

Those paths which have the nodes of the open edge vertically aligned get closed in cairo-based PDF and EPS/PS exports with cairo >= 1.10.2.

Inkscape 0.48.x on Windows ships with cairo 1.8.10 and is not affected by this bug.

Linking as duplicate to Bug #759154 “Incorrect printing/pdf conversion”. AFAICT the problem is with cairo, not Inskcape (same Inkscape revisions build and running with different cairo versions produce different PDF/EPS output; the error can be reproduced with other SVG rendering software using cairo for writing to PDF (e.g. rsvg).

Please add a comment here and revert the duplicate status if you don't agree and think these are different issues.
