version 0.48 is very slow to paint color gradients on the screen.
Sure I can reduce the filter display quality for Gausian soft lens and for the effect quality but so far I remember I got a better quality and a dramatically faster speed in inkscape 0.47.
I check this on a
Apple iMac 27" i5 with 8GB RAM
