Bug Description
It would be nice to have layers that are confined to a particular "bounded rectangle" where everything outside the rectangle is not displayed when the SVG is rendered. This feature would be especially useful for working with icons (where each icon size is confined to a separate "bounded layer") since it would make it easier to build a nice script for working with "one canvas" icons (http://

The only difference I would suggest is making the "bounded rectangle" a clipping path. I did it by deleting the layer's "inkscape:
