font size combobox shows senseless value

the number is the average of the sizes of each block of different sized
words...
there are 2 blocks of 19 sized words and one of 24, therefore
19+24+19=62
62 / 3 = 20.666666667

this may be the desired behaviour, but i am not sure what else could be done
besides just making it blank...

I know, but this is senseless because this value is never correct (like that in average humans have
one breast, but there are men and women).

Make it blank is the correct solution. This is also done in all other programs I know.

setting this one back to incomplete, as it appears to be a feature that was coded this way for a reason. I dont think anyone would accidently code generating an avereage font size without realising what they were doing. We need some feedback from the developers about the concept behind this one...

Also note that these 'nonsense' values are seen when non-uniformly scaling a text box.
1) create some 40px text 2) scale it by 200% horizontally 3) put the cursor in the text: reported size is 56.569

When this would be true, every software would be bug-free. It is still a bug that is confusing for the users and needs to be fixed. As a user it is not of interest if someone once introduced these confusing sizes by design or not, it needs to be fixed (or call it improved) nevertheless.

I'm setting this as wishlist since I tend to agree with the reporter. Even if the current solution is technically correct, it can be misleading when you've a letters with different but very close sizes. Or when you've different families for every letter and you had to change the size of some of them because you need the x-height of all letters to somewhat fit the same height. In those cases the user can be mislead to think that all of the selected text has the same point size, as visually it seems to be.

I propose to keep the same system but put the value in parenthesis when averaging a selected text.
