Bug Description
Overall redraw speed in inkscape have been improved a lot, but there's an option that would make the redrawing "feel" faster.
As far as I can see, Inkscape redraw is very fast and its great to be able to see the solid shape when dragging. But in slower systems an extra speedup could be a great help when working with complex shapes.
There is an option to avoid the slow screen redrawing already in the preferences, the option to show the bbox instead of the actual shape when dragging. But usually it has not much use because you can't tweak the object position because you can't see its bounds when you're dragging.
A possible solution would be to display a wireframe of the object (as it is showed in the outline mode) while dragging.
Adobe Illustrator uses this approach as default and feels snappier. Adding this option would extend the rank of posibilities, allowing the user to choose the better adapted method for each work.
Additionally, the new display method if it's set as default, will make inkscape "feel" faster on most systems, leaving the current method as an option for more powerful systems that can afford it.
Thank you for your idea to make inkscape better. I have put it on our wishlist.
