Not confirmed on Crunchbang Waldorf. 0.48.3.1 and trunk revision 13511.
> Possibly a missing feature (or key binding) in GTK+ itself (same in gtk-demo)?
I've also tested with my other GTK based applications (Geany, Banshee...) and none of them can expand tree views, thus it seems it's a system wide configuration (or version) issue.
