Based on the description, this is likely one of the symptoms of

* Bug #1283194 “Text rendering cuts off trailing character (depending on zoom level) (rev >= 12488)”

With the current free version of the mentioned font (now called 'Lexie Readable'), the reported issue reproduces with lp:inkscape rev >= 12488, like the other mentioned reports.
Such regressions haven't been (or can't be, according to the developer) fully fixed for certain affected fonts. The remaining issues (with certain fonts) are now tracked in later
