Bug Description
First of all, I do not know the internals of Cairo library and the GhostScript.
Inkscape can export EPS using Cairo, but the import needs third party tool GhostScript.
I request to have EPS import too by Inkscape and not GhostScript.
The import is not the same as the exported SVG.
For example, draw a rectangle with a gradient without transparencies. Inkscape will create an EPS which is clearly vector.
However, at import by GhostScript, into Inkscape, the gradient rectangle becomes a raster. The same result is achieved at EPS import in Illustrator.
I have used Inkscape 0.91 release version, not beta.
