As the previous fix only worked around the issue by adding blank pages to the output I had another shot at fixing this. I created a merge request with a "proper" fix that actually outputs partial renderings of the final document which can then be stacked in the LaTeX document with the text sandwiched in between, see https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/merge_requests/135
As the renderer (especially the hack we use to make PDF+LaTeX work) is a fragile thing and I'm not too familiar with it yet this requires a lot of testing. I'd appreciate if you could check with your own samples if Inkscape produces proper output.
