Subject: inkscape: does not print
Date: Mon, 31 Mar 2014 11:39:20 -0500
Package: inkscape
Version: 0.48.3.1-1.3
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
I cannot print from Inkscape.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Inkscape and save a file (e.g. drawing.svg).
2. Go to File --> Print.
3. Select the printer (HP Deskjet-
4. Press the Print button.
Unexpected behaviour:
The drawing is not printed. It gets queued as "drawing.svg" but remains in
status "Processing", blocking subsequent printing jobs. This can be seen in
User --> System Settings --> Printers --> YOUR_PRINTER --> Jobs --> Show.
Expected behaviour:
The drawing is printed.

I confirm this.
Actually the GTK print dialog is broken. It does not allow you to set
the correct page size, as a result Cups does not print, and only shows
processing.
As a workaround, first print as PDF, then print the PDF.

Possibly upstream bug in older versions of Gtk+ 2.24, e.g. /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ gimp/+bug/ 998156
