Bug Description
The attached SVG was created on the windows 0.48.4-1 build of Inkscape (windows 7). In IE, Chrome, and Safari the image contains extra shapes that don't appear in Inkscape. Not clear what caused them. The phantom shapes appear to be the original color of the 3d box shape that I started with. I had done path exclusion to cut the box sides, and I also drew some bezier shapes to use with the Extension Modify Path / Perspective for some text.
Note that I did a little editing on Mac Inkscape version 0.48.2 r9819 to the svg file attached, but the problem had appeared during the original session on the windows version mentioned above and continues to be present on this machine/build after subsequent saves.
Quick workaround (often recommended for files which are to be viewed in other SVG viewers [1]): type="inkscape: box3dside" ' - which somehow (I have no idea how) got left behind (in document root, completely outside any usual Inkscape layer structure - the attached 'Inkscape SVG' file seems to have seen editing and/or saving in other than the default format not mentioned in the original bug description).
Save a copy as 'Plain SVG' - this will remove the remnants of the original Inkscape shape (3dbox) - 4 paths with the attribute 'sodipodi:
Note: you can convert Inkscape 3dboxes to regular objects (group with 6 paths) by applying 'Path > Object to Path' (which strips the attributes holding the specific parameters for the 3dbox tool). After such a conversion, the box can no longer be edited with the 3dbox tool, but can be modified without restriction using regular tools and commands in inkscape to modify groups and paths.
