Bug Description
When I use Shift + # keyboard (kbd) shortcut for grid that does not affect menu. Grid is not/yes checked, but never true checked in menu (View > Grid).
In screenshot is one example.
When I enable Grid with kbd shortcut that doesn't display in menu (Grid isn't checked). Same problem is when I disable grid with kbd shortcut. This isn't a big bug/problem, but this is sometimes frustrate.
I am using inkscape-trunk on Ubuntu 12.04.2 with Unity.

and works as expected, also for states toggled with keyboard shortcuts, with the "normal" menubar (docked in the application window).
The issue reported here is related to the global application menu under Unity [1], and can affect other toggle states in menus, too, for example the 'Color-managed view' option: /bugs.launchpad .net/inkscape/ +bug/985623/ comments/ 4>

- Not reproduced with X11 and Quartz-based builds on OS X 10.7.4 (without global menubar integration).
- Reproduced with Inkscape 0.48+devel r12137 and r12155 on Ubuntu 12.10
- Not reproduced on Ubuntu if launching inkscape from the terminal with global menu disabled:
$ UBUNTU_MENUPROXY=0 inkscape
