Bug Description

Binary package hint: glhack

When launching via "glhack --windowed" as documented in the man page, the glhack window still goes fullscreen. More annoyingly, it does it in a way that can't be easily escaped from (alt-tab doesn't work, etc). Additionally, the game complains of "No write permission to lock /var/games/glhack/perm", which seems to block the startup for 10-15 seconds, which is all the more annoying.

Thanks for reporting this.

When running "glhack --windowed" in Ubuntu Natty, it also goes fullscreen. The "no write permission"-error is covered in bug 684559, by the way.

Bug 684559 has now been resolved.

However, it is still the case that glhack 1.2-3 on Ubuntu Xenial seems to ignore the --windowed parameter.

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.

Ubuntu 16.04 (xenial) reached end-of-standard-support on April 29, 2021.

Do you still see a problem related to the one that you reported when using a currently supported release of Ubuntu? Please let us know if you do otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.

Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.
