hp-devicesettings fails to find printer

To be able to use borderless printing with my PhotoSmart C7280 connected via WLAN, I wan't to switch off
"Fit-to-Page", which is not offered by CUPS printer administration. hp-devicesettungs fails to find device given by printer name, see trace at the end.

All Photosmart print queues are created with hp-setup, in total I've 5 queues of the same device with different base settings (chosen in CUPS) (draft, draft/duplex, best, best/duplex, photo/phototray).

Print control is done by CUPS 1.3.11, which works fine. pstoraster comes from ghostscript 8.64 with hplip-hpijs support.

Scanning based on sane-backends 1.0.19 and hpaio backend from hplip 3.9.6b works fine, xsane works fine, don't know why hp-check does not find xsane, even scanning from within gimp 2.6.7 works.
