Bug Description

Have no luck installing HPLip for a new install of Ubuntu 18.04 with an existing CP-1025nw printer. Suspecting it is the plugin, I have been focusing on trying to get that installed.

Below ouput, with some superfluous text removed and noted by # . Also some output from hp-check below.

Ubuntu 18.04's hplip should work with the CP-1025nw, so I imagine it's testing of 3.19.1 you are doing. Required reading is

Thank you Brian,

I've;
sh hplip-3.19.1-plugin.run
and that completes, then I
sh hplip-3.19.1.run

and the last few lines of what I get;

Running 'sudo make install'

What do I do next?
I have tried hp-setup but it says it is not installed,

Command 'hp-setup' not found, but can be installed with:
sudo apt install hplip

and then when I do that, I get;

What does

The plugin does not appear to be installed.

The Release Notes recommend doing

  sh hplip-3.19.1-plugin.run

Where did you get hplip-3.19.1-plugin.run from?

I would download hplip-3.17.10-plugin.run and install it with 'hp-plug -i -p'. There really should be no need to have 3.19.1 on the system.
