Bug Description

I am using simple scan. When setting to in preferences to scan front and back, only the front scans. I have also selected scan all pages from scanner, but that does not change the result.

Hi Gary,

Could you try to use hp-scan command to use duplex scan

hp-scan --adf --duplex

In Scanjet pro 2000S1 is having a independent backend. It might not be supported by simple scan. I prefer to use hp-scan.

If you see this issue with hp-scan let us know.

Thanks,
Umesh

using HP Scan:

If I start from the menu icon, it scans only the front page.

If started from a shell with hp-scan --adf --duplex nothing happens, and
when I hit ctrl-c to break out I get a segmentation fault.

Could you try with xsane application.

On my lab I am able to scan the duplex page with hp-scan --adf --duplex.

If you hit segmentation fault share the backtrace.

Thanks,
Umesh

Sorry for the slow response times... I do taxes, and have been swamped.

I can scan duplex using x-sane, and duplex does indeed work from x-sane.

I did try the hp-scan --adf --duplex again, and want to add some further info. After I run hp-scan --adf --duplex it asks wich scanner to use. There is two, the ScanJet Pro connected to my machine nnd a networked brother multifunction printer / scanner that it is detecting.

When I hit 1 for the hp, nothing happens, and get the segmentation fault when I hit ctrl C

Thanks,
