Bug Description

A incompatibility was detected with Ubuntu 18.04 (Xorg) and HPLIP 3.18.5. The problem is an I/O error when the user tries to use the Scanner of HP PRO M1212nf, network printer.

Print tasks work perferctly but scans not. The Simple Scan or xSane doesnt recognize the hardware or returm an I/O error.

If the user uses Ubuntu 18.04 (Wayland), scan tasks and prints works fine.

In Ubuntu 18.04 Wayland, to use Hp M1212nf, is just necessary execute the following comands:

sudo apt-get install hplip hplip-gui -y

Lauch HP-Toolbox

Install printers

It's Done.

In Ubuntu 18.04 (xorg) is only possible install Hplip through the .run archive, some problems can occur during install process.

Missing pyqt5, pyqt4, libcanberra-gtk, pil and others.

After installation process, just print jobs works.

Hi Rapheel,

Looks like plug-in is not installed properly.

Could you please run "hp-plugin" command. It will download and install plug-in automatically.

If you still face any issue. Please let me know.

Regards,
Santhosh
