Bug Description

Please see bug on ubuntu:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/+source/harpia/+bug/910524

which is decided on by :

https://launchpad.net/~micahg

to remove harpia from Ubuntu12.04 alpha2 completely, when there is no reaction from you.

Iǘe send you a private E-Mail. You have not react on.

I try it now on this way.

Please have the courage to answer, also when you are not interested in harpia anymore.

If it is the last case, be brave enought to remove harpia by your own and let not others carry the rubbish behind you.

I cannot agree more with you. I will ask the owner either to fix or remove. Sorry for your trouble and thank you for your comprehension.

Hi all,

What would be the deadline to FIX it? Also, your comments are highly
pertinent regarding our use of python-4suite-xml.

Thanks,
Clovis

The very last deadline the is alpha2 release on 2.2.2012:

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+milestone/precise-alpha-2

But, I would not bed on that you have the chace to get it up the last days. It is only a medium bug as you can see in teh buglist.

And I have doubt that

https://launchpad.net/~micahg

is patient like Torvalds with last moment patches. You may want to ask him, what he might want to accept.

summary: - herpia will be removed from Ubuntu12.04 on alpha2
+ harpia will be removed from Ubuntu12.04 on alpha2

ping reply: 1 day
I'm really sorry but cpuldn't work on it.. It seems we'll have to
remove it then :/

Do I have to do that?

Sorry.. I still plan to work on it but I'd suggest we remove until I
fix all issues or till we find someone else to maintain it..

That`s the problem with project that started from academic side in common. A good rocket like start, but long time like the past MIR in the orbit.

My background is a mathematically one and I am not trained enought to do that efficiently.

[@erdtmann: What is arround in your (academic?) environment?Do you know somebody?]

What removing affected in the main repositories. Filing a bugreport against harpia in ubuntu is enough. Someone from bugsquad will do it there. -> In this case I can do a notification on :

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/+source/harpia/+bug/910524

with the same effect in the next days, when there is no more from somebody of you. I wait until.

Sorry, I didn't respond here before. Feature freeze is Feb 16, so ideally, we'd like this to be fixed before then. The milestone for removal has been moved to Beta 1 which is March 1.

Also, please note that removal from precise doesn't mean exclusion from precise. If it would get fixed in a later release, there's always the option to backport assuming the libraries needed either don't exist/conflict with what's in precise or are already in precise.
