Bug Description
recordMyDesktop freezes every-time I start it. The moment I hit the record button everything on the screen disappears leaving just the wallpaper. Nothing else works and I am forced to restart the PC. I create a lot of screencast for my articles and it is making it impossible for me to use Ubuntu anymore.
Hardware: GPU: Nvidia GTX 470
OS: Ubuntu 11.10, updated.

I also use Ubuntu 11.10, but it's different with me. When I hit record, I get this error message:
Recording is finished.
recordMyDesktop has exited with status: 3328
Description: Cannot open file for writting (sic).
On previous Ubuntu versions, RecordMyDesktop worked like a charm.
