Bug Description
In order to reduce screen clutter I put the deskbar-applet into a horizontal gnome panel of its own. The panel is normally hidden and slides out from the side only when needed. When the applet gets the focus by using the assigned shortcut the panel remains hidden, though. The desired behaviour would be the applet telling the panel to unhide when focus is received, and (symmetrically) telling the panel to hide again (if hidden before) after a short delay when focus is lost.
