Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-panel
Turn on autohide on the typical top and bottom panels and place them both on the left side.
Both panels hide, with a slight offset that doesn't really make it possible to pick one or the other.
A better solution might be to 'join' them, so they both hide or slide out together.
