Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-gpg

Using the Edgy versions of gnome-gpg (0.5.0-0ubuntu1) and gpg (1.4.3-2ubuntu3.2), new keys cannot be generated with gnome-gpg.

Here's the related output:

$ gnome-gpg --gen-key
gpg (GnuPG) 1.4.3; Copyright (C) 2006 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
This program comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY.
This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it
under certain conditions. See the file COPYING for details.

unhandled GET issued: GET_LINE keygen.algo

Thanks for your report!

Since gnome-gpg wasn't written to handle arbitrary input requests from gpg, this doesn't work yet. Currently only being prompted for the password is supported. As a work-around, you'll need to run gpg directly.

Changed in gnome-gpg:
importance: Undecided → Wishlist
status: Unconfirmed → Confirmed
