Bug Description
A few things that I think would help with PCB: (just
personal suggestions)
1)Add tooltips with the shortcut keys when hovering
over the buttons on the left.
2)Add numbers to the layers on the left. This is a
quick reference so it's easier to see that say '5' is
solder_gnd.
3)Make it so right clicking the layer allows it to be
re-named or re-coloured.
4)Add a key shortcut for "rotate 90 degrees". I know
that 'F4' will do this, but I then have to press F1 or
F2 to revert to the mode I was previously in. The 'r'
key isn't currently used.
5)Labels. I'd like the ability to add labels and
warnings. These would serve purely as reminders to me,
and not show up at all in the output. Eg a label would
say "Clock_ADC_2". A warning might say "Remember to
connect me". Any warnings would be flagged up by the DRC.
6)Wire links. Would it be worth adding an explicit
option for a "wire link" on a single sided board? It
isn't really a symbol, but it isn't really a track either.
7)Add a "Help" item into the menu to open the refcard
and manual pages.
8)When performing the DRC check, the confirmation box
"jumps" from under the mouse each time. It's very hard
to keep clicking "Cancel". An option of "show all
errors" might also be nice. Eg if I have 50 errors in
the silk screen, I don't really care.
9)It took me a very long time to realise that actions
occur on the objects over which one is hovering. I
always used to middle-click a track/via before pressing
the DEL key. Perhaps this should be stressed in the manual?
Thank you very much for a wonderful tool - I have just
designed a rather complicated IR camera system with it.
Regards
Richard

This bug contains several feature requests, and it would be helpful to split it up so they can be tracked individually.
Many thanks
