Bug Description
I'm used to setup softlinks in share/pcb/newlib to point to my own footprint directories:
This worked fine until I've installed 20100929, with which they are ignored.

Hi,
I can setup soft links in /usr/share/ pcb/pcb- newlib/ (with "root"
permission on my FC13 distro with pcb-20100929 installed), which works
for me with the GTK UI, but this is not a good practice IMHO.
I can setup one or more paths (separated with ":") with the GTK UI to a pcb/preferences
local user lib and a global system wide lib in my $HOME/.
file as a regular user, the line below gives the directories I use and
this works without any quirks.
The path can be entered by choosing "File"- >"Preferences. .." and
selecting the "Library" tab in the left pane.
For example:
<quote> workspace/ pcb-footprints: /usr/share/ pcb/pcblib- newlib
/home/bert/
</quote>
For the Lesstif UI there seems to be no "Preferences..." entry point in .pcb/preference s" and the entry workspace/ pcb-footprints" by hand (works
the pull down menus, so you better edit the file
"$HOME/
"library-newlib = /home/bert/
for the GTK UI too).
Kind regards,
Bert Timmerman.
