Did it used to work for you and broke recently? No video code has
changed, and it was working for me a couple weeks ago. Possibly a
missing dependency. Can dragon play the videos for you?
Are those two different computers? The j and z were Quicktime files before which
maybe you don't have the xine stuff on the Ubuntu machine? After your change
to ogg, does everything work?
Yes, they are technically different machines (kubuntu is in a vm). As far as the videos, they still don't work in Gally after the change. Dragon can play them now though.
some videos also broken for me on Ubuntu Gnome, some in lesson 4 work but England/English does not and the j and z in lesson 1 don't work (but there is audio)
Do you two have xine installer or Phonon configured to use gstreamer? GNOME uses gstreamer by default and KDE, xine, but I don't know what all you have installed. Either way, I'm pretty sure it's a codec thing.
