'top' shows Gala CPU usage spiking (up to 100%) bogging down the desktop.
'gala --replace' makes desktop temporarily usable until gala starts again.
Symptoms suggest CPU is software rending however 'glxinfo | grep render' shows direct rendering (yes) and OpenGL rendering via my Intel GM945 GMA 950 |
