Bug Description

Open an existing account with a large number of transactions by tapping it (from the "Accounts" tab) and then touching "Blotter". Then, scroll down say 3-4 screens and touch any transaction which brings up a dialog box that shows "Clear" as one of the options.

TWO BUGS:

1. If the "Clear" is chosen, it clears the transaction but scrolls the screen back to the very top. The screen should stay at the same place since usually people "Clear" transaction when balancing bank or credit card statements and it can be painful to come back to the same date transaction every time a transaction is cleared (a month's statement can have say 20 or more transactions so it means scrolling back down 20 times).

2. If an already cleared transaction is touched, then the option should say "Unclear" instead of "Clear" so that a transaction accidentally cleared can be uncleared.

SUGGESTION:

Since clearing is normally done while checking monthly bank or credit card statements, it would be great if you can provide a checkbox against each transaction in the Blotter (or maybe on another special clearing screen) so that we can quickly simply check-mark all the cleared transaction. This will save at least one touch for each transaction and will be extremely useful.

Or you can make the left bar which turns green a bit wider and allow that to be touched to clear or unclear the transaction.

Thank you for such a great application! I really like this app. Will consider buying the paid version when it drops in price.

First I have to say I agree. I consider it to be a bug. Clearing a transaction is a kind of editing and should behave similar. When you edit a transaction the screen is not scrolled to the very top and so should be the case with clearing.

For mass operations with transactions you can use the mass operation view accessible from general blotter (unfortunately not from accounts blotter) or any other basic view.
But this is not practical. Once you are in an accounts blotter you have to go out and select mass operations and filter the list so you can find your accounts transactions and finally select some transactions and fire the desired operation.
The mass operation is not accessible from an accounts blotter and it's not practical to use in case you have general blotter with some filter. In later case you have to go to mass operation view and reenter the filter there.
I think Financisto should follow the standard of ICS and let user select transactions in any view (filtered or unfiltered) and let him fire any desired mass operation with the selected transactions.

In case you uncheck the setting "Quick menu in blotter" there is no way to quickly clear transactions. I like to uncheck this option but I want to have the possibility to quickly clear transactions.
I have a suggestion to implement a quick change of transaction state to the transaction info view without the need to press "Edit". Something like arrows in the title bar near to the state icon for changing the state one step forward/backward in the sequence
