Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

I noticed this bug occurs when resuming from idle state, the brightness is up by at least two levels. It didn't restore the last saved brightness level. I'm running gnome-power-manager 2.32.0 on an Ubuntu 10.10 system. My notebook is an HP Pavilion dv3t with

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07)
00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07)

Does anyone have the same problem with their HP machine?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the stable release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed. You can find out more about it at http://www.ubuntu.com/download . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

Hi Pedro, my notebook is already running Oneiric Ocelot. I am still having a problem with screen brightness after resuming from idle mode, closing the lid or start/restart. It does not remember the brightness level that's why I need to adjust it every time. I am currently following this thread of bug #568611 and has already applied Kamal Mostafa's PPA/patch.

I am linking this bug report to that for better tracking.

Thanks Pedro for the attention and assistance.
