Bug Description

Exaile version: 0.3.0.1-0ubuntu6 from synaptic
Xubuntu 9.10

Exaile will not play music from my external HDD unless I first open up and view the drive in my window manager. The computer recognizes (or seems to) my drive, since it appears in Thunar's side panel, but exaile does not. I like Exaile and went through a few other media players (without this problem) until I figured this out.

How are you trying to open the drive inside of Exaile? The files tab? File->Open?

It's been a few ways. The files can be already present on a playlist (like the "Entire Library" one) or I can make a new playlist. Either way, when I double-click a file or press play, nothing happens.

Again. you haven't told me how you got these files into Exaile in the first place. Did you add your external as a new library folder perhaps? If so, then this is probably a dup of bug #153054.

Somehow I misread your previous post, sorry.

I added my external as my library, so it sounds like bug dupe.
