Bug Description
EG 2.8.4
Our cataloger has been making use of the ability to add ISBN's directly from the PO Line Item add interface, by overwriting the currently selected ISBN Order Identifier.
Extra spaces sometimes creep into a copy when copying data from websites. In our case it is from copying ISBN's from B&T Titlesource 360. If a trailing space is added at this point, it gets sent in the EDI message and stored in the bib record. The space causes the order to fail, and it is difficult to spot the extra space to troubleshoot.
Since I don't think trailing or leading spaces would legitimately be wanted in ISBN, UPC or ISSN codes, it would be nice if they were stripped out automatically when entered or when the form is submitted.
This would remove one possible point of failure for our acquisitions workflow.
Thanks
Josh
