mouse resets position to center

I doesn't affect ubuntu versioun of XBMC but only recompiled svn version is affected (probably even every compiled version).
extreme tux racer ubuntu package is affected.

You are trying to move mouse but after a second or two it always moves to center position.

Could be something wrong with settings to move pointer to button after showing msg box or something. But i am not sure i am even using this option.

I totally forgot this bug, didn't affect me in 9.04, nor in 9.10

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid.

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Just saw those symptoms in extreme tux racer after an update of maverick. With two differences to the original report:
The mouse sits still in the center if unmoved.
I do not see those syslog lines.

Happens also with the older 2.6.35-4 kernel. Happens with both touchpad and mouse.

Saw those symptoms in OpenArena on an installed system upgraded to current maverick.
I also tried OpenArena on a current live maverick (on the same hardware). Everything was fine.
So now I suspect a configuration problem, not a bug in etracer. I did however not confirm that etracer works on the live system. I'll set the etracer bug to incomplete till testing is done on a live system.

No. It does not happen on a freshly installed maverick. Must be some leftover configuration thing or so.

I'll close this bug because:
it was initially filed for a release not supported anymore;
the original reporter say he has not seen it in newer releases (his comment #2);
I am not seeing it anywhere anymore either;

Reproduced in 12.04 Beta 2 in Extreme Tux Racer. Simple USB mouse (not A4Tech)
