Bug Description

It's not possible to load Jupiter from an USB stick:
1) download the ISO
2) use the usb-creator in order to create a bootable USB
3) restart the PC with the USB inserted
4) "Boot error"

This may be caused by different things, might not be a bug at all...
Please specify which Ubuntu version you are using, there are known incompatibilities between some versions.
Also, the image might be broken during transmission; did you download it via BitTorrent or via direct link?

I used Ubuntu 11.04 and I downloaded the 32-bit version both via BitTorrent (using Transmission) and via direct link (using Midori as web browser).
I wrote the ISO-file downloaded via BitTorrent on a CD and it works (now I'm using it)

Ubuntu Lucid is known to be incompatible with Maverick's USB creator; Ubuntu Maverick upon which Jupiter is built could be incompatible with Natty's USB creator as well. Would you create a USB stick with Ubuntu Maverick and check if it boots?

Making Jupiter USBs from Maverick works fine for me.

In Luna it works very nicely, just have to wait under a minute, and it boots into ubiquity: I tested it.

i did elementary live usbs from natty. first of all, using usb-creator did not always work ( i had to switch between 2 drives) but unetbootin did the job (the latest downloaded from sf)

I downloaded the latest iso E-OS Luna gone into yesterday (2011-07-21) and when the system load I get the following error (trying from VirtualBox):

FATAL: Error inserting ramzswap (/lib/modules/3.0.0-5-generic/kernel/ubuntu/compcache/ramzswap.ko):Invalid module format

We can't do anything about it because it's a bug in usb-creator, not elementary OS. I've set a different bug status to make it more obvious.
