elementary-tweak: Changing cursor theme doesn't change main cursor

Bug Description

The reason is that additionally to doing the dconf entry you also have to edit /etc/alternatives/x-cursor-theme and set up the theme there too.

[Icon Theme]
Inherits=oxy-black

Otherwise all cursors except the main cursor are changed.

Also it would be nice to give a notice that the changes don't take effect before you log out. (X server restart is required)

I'd rather use .Xdefaults, so we won't need superuser privilege

Xcursor.theme: whiteglass

This has the disadvantage that the cursor wouldn't work in lightdm yet. If you can live with that... :)

True, but it has the advantage of supporting different cursor themes for different users.

This bug also affects GNOME and Unity as well as their available customizers, and perhaps always has (as long as I can remember at least). I don't know why no one's ever addressed the issue.

Bump on this. Affects me on my native machine, but if installing eOS on virtual machine I can change cursor team without issue.

So, I need to manually edit /etc/alternatives/x-cursor-theme to be able to change the main cursor.

There is also a shortcut found in /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme, which is shortcut to /etc/alternatives/x-cursor-theme, that could be changed as well, doesn't matter.

Wow - here we are 5 years later - using Loki 0.4.1 and this is still an issue... it kinda makes the cursor change option in elementary-tweaks useless...
