Bug Description

After finishing recording, Eidete displays a message that it can't connect to contractor and then asks to save a file. The saved file is not a video, it is always 300 bytes in size. I have actually tried to view somebody's video that was called "corrupted" by my browser. I would post a video of the bug, but . . . .

I committed taboo by confirming my own bug, but there were multiple duplicates, so deal with it.

I have the same problem. EIDtE creates a 300 bytes file. And it has worked before, but it does not work now on same hardware.

Btw I can view webm files just fine in the default video player. No problem.

I'm using an AMD GPU here. Doesn't work too. After recording, Eidete outputs "could not contact Contractor.Click the Save button to save the file" and the 300 byte file is produced.

I can as well reproduce this problem on kernel 3.3.6-030306-generic. My laptop has two GPUs of which I only use Intel integrated one.

This has been happening for a while now. Kernel version 3.5.0-22-generic and Intel Ironlake graphics.

Well that went horribly, just had to purge nvidia* and reinstall my driver.

Still no luck with Eidete though.

Any idea why Kazam Screencaster does the same thing? When you save as webm it does it, but saving as h264 doesn't.
