Bug Description
Per https:/
Observing the behaviour reported in that bug in lucid: trailing garbage appended to file on read, padding to some multiple of 4K.
I believe lucid is "supported", although I'm not sure what a "series" is or how I report a bug against one.

The script marked Bug #509180 Won't Fix against linux (Ubuntu) by an automated script, maintained by the Ubuntu Kernel Team, as being filed against a series that is no longer supported. If you look at what was added to the bug report by apport-collect, you will notice the series was karmic. Karmic is no longer supported. The script thought, mistakenly, that the bug report itself was only valid against karmic, yet the commenters report the problem persists under lucid as well. I do not have permissions to reopen Bug #509180, but I marked this one invalid as to eCryptfs and added linux (Ubuntu). Someone (only one) still having this problem in lucid, may wish to run apport-collect -p linux 810860 and request a Stable Release Update.
