Further investigation shows that gnome-do starts fine with gnome-do-plugins removed, and other users do not have this problem. So apparently my plugins are corrupt. I completely removed the files under ~/.gconf/ apps/gnome- do; what else do I need to do to get this to work? I don't see any other settings files relevant to the issue.
