Bug Description
Binary package hint: imagemagick
I have some JP2 files created using the ImageMagick 'convert' utility on an up-to-date 64 bit Intrepid system on 2008-11-18. At the time ImageMagick was able to convert those files back to other formats. Now, on the same system upgraded to Jaunty, convert fails with the following message:
error: cannot decode code stream
convert: unable to decode image file `foo.jp2' @ coders/
convert: missing an image filename `bar.tiff' @ wand/convert.
The libjasper-runtime tools also fail to read the image, though it is possible to retrieve them using the openjpeg-tools utility 'j2k_to_image'.
Upon further investigation it appears that right now openjpeg is creating JP2 files that are unreadable by jasper (and perhaps at the time I created the files, ImageMagick was using openjpeg and now uses jasper).
Could you post an exemple of old jpeg2000 file?
